Why it matters

The facts are forgettable.
The story is what sticks.

Most brands describe what they do. The best brands explain why it matters and make you feel it. Story isn't a soft skill — it's the mechanism by which information becomes memorable, trust gets built, and strangers become customers. You can have the best product in the category and lose to the brand with the better narrative. We write the better narrative.

What's included

Four deliverables.
One complete narrative foundation.

01

Brand Narrative

The master document that captures what you believe, why it matters, and why you're the one to deliver it. Not a tagline, not a mission statement — a full narrative arc that becomes the foundation for everything your brand says.

  • Core brand story
  • The problem you solve (and why it matters)
  • Why you, why now
  • Narrative arc for different audiences

02

Founder & Origin Story

The true story of why this company exists, told in a way that's honest, specific, and genuinely compelling. Origin stories are the most underused asset in most brands — people connect with people, and authenticity is the rarest thing in marketing.

  • Founder interview & story development
  • Written origin narrative
  • Short-form and long-form versions
  • Website & pitch-ready formats

03

Key Message Pillars

Three to five core messages that anchor all your brand communication. Not talking points — messages with evidence, told in human language, that every piece of content can ladder back to.

  • 3–5 message pillars
  • Supporting proof points per pillar
  • Audience-specific message mapping
  • Content themes derived from pillars

04

Core Copy & Content

The actual words: about page, homepage narrative, pitch deck narrative, team bios, and the other foundational copy that most brands write badly and leave unfinished.

  • About page copy
  • Homepage narrative copy
  • Team bios (key personnel)
  • Pitch deck narrative & copy

Who we work with

For companies whose story
is better than their copy.

Founders Who Know Their Story But Can't Articulate It

You know why you built this. You know what makes you different. But every time you try to write it, it comes out like everyone else. We're good at finding the story that's already there.

Brands Going Through a Chapter Change

New leadership, new direction, new market. The old story doesn't fit anymore. We help you figure out what the new chapter is and how to tell it without pretending the last one didn't happen.

Companies That Have the Strategy But Not the Words

You have a positioning doc. You have a deck. But the copy on your website was written in 2019 and you've been meaning to fix it ever since. We turn the strategy into something a human would actually want to read.

Our approach

Truth first.
Then make it compelling.

Listen

Find the real story

We ask different questions than most. We're looking for specificity, tension, and the moment — the things that make your story actually true.

Shape

Build the narrative arc

Facts aren't stories. We find the structure that makes your truth compelling — beginning, conflict, resolution, and the thing that makes it yours.

Write

Make it human

No jargon. No mission-statement language. Copy that sounds like a real person thought it and another real person would want to read it.

Apply

Put it everywhere

The story only works if it's consistent across every touchpoint. We help you apply it where it matters most.

How it works

Five steps from scattered
to story.

01

Story Discovery Session

A deep conversation. We ask about the founding moment, the problem you can't stop thinking about, the customer you've helped most, the thing you've never said publicly but believe privately. The story is usually already there — we find it.

02

Research & Competitive Landscape

We look at how your category talks about itself — and map where the narrative white space is. Most categories sound identical. That's an opportunity.

03

Narrative Draft

The full brand narrative, origin story, and message pillars drafted and delivered for review. This is the hardest part — taking everything from the discovery session and shaping it into something true and compelling.

04

Review & Refinement

You read it out loud and tell us what doesn't sound like you. We revise until it does. Good copy passes the "I would actually say that" test.

05

Core Copy Delivery

Final narrative documents plus the applied copy: about page, homepage narrative, pitch deck copy, team bios. Everything in editable format with a brief on how to use it.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Is this copywriting or strategy?

Both, and the distinction matters less than most agencies make it seem. Story strategy without words is incomplete. Words without a strategic foundation are just filler. We do the thinking and the writing.

What if we already have some copy written?

We'll work with it. Sometimes existing copy just needs sharpening — the bones are good but the language is flat. Sometimes it needs to be rebuilt from scratch. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.

Do you write website copy too?

The core copy work includes homepage narrative and about page. For a full website copy project (all pages, product/service descriptions, SEO-informed structure), that's a separate engagement — and we do that too.

How involved do we need to be in the process?

The story discovery session is intensive — we need real access to the people who know the company best. After that, the writing is on us. Review rounds require feedback, but we don't need you in a room every week.

Can you write in our existing brand voice?

Yes. If you have voice guidelines and existing copy you're happy with, we'll match it. If you don't, we'll help you define it as part of this engagement.

How do we know if the story is working?

A good brand story passes two tests: it sounds unmistakably like you, and it would still make sense to your best customer. We workshop it against both before delivery.

Get started

Ready to find your story?

It starts with a conversation. Tell us about the company, what you're trying to say, and why the current version isn't working. We'll take it from there.
